Larry Garner Inducted into the OAA Hall of Fame

Ohio Auctioneers Honor Larry Garner as Newest Member of the Hall of Fame

Columbus - Approximately 200 auctioneers and guests turned out for the Ohio Auctioneers Association’s Annual Convention, January 13-15, 2007 in Dublin, OH at which the organization bestowed its highest honor to one of its top auctioneers.  The Hall of Fame committee, comprised of only 30 auctioneers since its inception, inducted Larry W. Garner of Carrollton, OH on Sunday, January 14th during the annual Hall of Fame Luncheon.  Joining Larry at this event were 13 previous winners of this high honor.      

Larry W. Garner of Larry W. Garner Realty and Auctioneers, LLC has been working as an auctioneer since 1958 and received his real estate license in 1972 and his broker license in 1978.  In his career as an auctioneer, Garner has served the National Auctioneers Association as a board of director from 1995-1998, the Ohio Auctioneers Association as president in 1989 and the Ohio Auctioneers Commission as chair in 1991.   In 1982, Larry founded and conducted his first consignment firearms auction.  Today, Larry is licensed and conducts firearm auctions in 26 states, and he is respected nationally as a leading auctioneer for firearms.  Aside from auctions, Garner has taught continuing education courses related to the sale of firearms in 20 states, including 4 seminars for the National Auctioneers Association.

Rodney Dimmerling of Dimmerling Realty and Auctioneers, Inc. nominated Garner for this award and had this to say, “It has been my experience that the general public holds Larry in high regards in knowledge, integrity and honesty.  I know that Larry will make an excellent addition to the Ohio Auctioneers Hall of Fame.”
 
Larry Garner resides in Carrollton, OH with his wife of 44 years, Kay.  Larry and Kay have three children, Larry Jr., Theresa Braswell and Paige Garner.
