Ohio Auctioneers Association 40^th Annual Bid Call Contest

COLUMBUS, Ohio (August 5, 2008) - The 40^th Annual Ohio State Fair Bid Call Contest took place on Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at the Showplace Pavilion at the Ohio State Fair from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The contest consisted of two divisions, Senior and Junior, with 18 contestants in the Junior Division and 16 contestants in the Senior Division.   The Senior division is represented by those with greater than seven (7) years of bid calling experience.  The Junior division is represented by those with less than seven (7) years bid calling experience.

The winners from the Senior division were 1^st place, Jason Miller of Quaker City, Ohio; 2^nd place, Kevin Frey of Archbold, Ohio; and 3^rd place, Scott Mihalic of Chardon, Ohio.  The Junior division winners were 1^st place, Susan Johnson of Guilford, IN for the second year in a row; 2^nd place, Michael Boyd of Lancaster, Ohio; and 3^rd place, Seth Andrews of Wooster, Ohio.

Over $2,380.00 was raised from the contest with the proceeds going to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
